On checking, PNG format allows for transparency. You can convert almost
any image to this format with Irfanview by saving it in your choice of
format.

I used Irfanview to change a gif extension to a png extension. Then I
changed the content.html file to the png extension. Both content.html and
the png file was uploaded to the FTP site. . Now there is no arrow at
all. I do not think the Web displays png on the web. - Gerald
