No, actually I think your letter was helpful. : )
Thank you Nigel.
So, would you suggest I do this again, and this time FORMAT the cd? To use it
like a
floppy? That does sound like a good idea. (Somehow I got the impression the
last
time I asked about cd/r/rw cd's that some suggested NOT to format it first, so
that's
why I did it that way.)
Here is what my goal is:
I want to get rid of all the jpg's on my hard drive.
I put them on that cd and made directories, and put the pictures in catagories
as I
drag/dropped them to the cd.
But, I have a Sony digital camera, so all over my desk I have floppies I've not
gone
thru with pictures I need to organize too. My goal it to take all those
floppies,
and add them to that cd <or another one> too.
I want my jpg's to be organized.
No more hunting forever to find one picture you are looking for. If I put them
in
directories, then it will help me be organized....
and at the same time my goal is to free up space on my hard drive that is
reaching
it's full status.
Thanks for the suggestions, and feel free to keep them coming! : )

OK. So it is a CD-RW re-writable cd.

No! No! No! You do NOT have to erase it to add more.

You start easy cd and then find "import session" under one of the drop downs
at the top (Disk I think it is). Then you simply add files to the layout
that gets imported from the cd - add and delete if you want.

If you use packet writing - Adaptec Direct CD (called InCD by Nero) then
you format the cd as if it were a large floppy. You get the instant
write/erase feature of a floppy but you lose about 100 megs - direct cd
formatted disks can hold about 540 megs, not the 650 of a "normal" cd.
Confused?
Sorry about that.
