I believe Backweb is no longer used. It was originally intended for
notifying people of updates, and delivering updates in the background.
Unfortunately, it's mostly used in ways that annoy people.  It almost
certainly came on the computer from HP.

KillWind is innocent by itself, and as you mention, is supplied by HP.
