Hi Tonia,
Interesting comment about life time warranty. I understand that a
product
with a life time warranty can never go bad as it were. I have never
heard of
a stick of RAM ever going bad, such as you described. I am puzzled that
the
vendor had to return the RAM back to the maker for it to be tested. Why
did
the seller not test it first and then give you another new RAM? Just
wondering out loud. Have a nice day, and always keep smiling.

Subject: [pchelpers] Fried RAM update
Hi all
About the stick of RAM that got fried....well it's the
RAM that was faulty. I called HP and they said to test
out the socket by moving the original HP RAM to it. As
they promised to replace the system board and RAM for
me if they got fried, I did. And everything's working
fine!
I brought the stick of RAM back to the shop and asked
for a replacement and they told me RAMs have a
life-time warranty but they will have to let the
supplier test it first before replacing it.
Now here's a thought. What is a life-time warranty? My
life-time or the life-time of the RAM? What is the
lifespan of a stick of 256MB of RAM? If it died on the
first day I bought it like this one did, does that
mean the life-time of that stick of RAM is one day?
Meaning warranty has just expired?
Just wondering =A7:^)
Tonia
