Hi Inge You must have got the option "Do not ask for update source" checked. Select "Update Manager" from the AVG control panel. Click on the "Properties" button. Uncheck "Do not ask for update source" and you will get the dialog box asking where you want to get your update from. Also, you need to save your downloaded update files in the same folder where AVG is installed. If you click on that folder, you'll see several dll and exe files among others, in the folder where you installed AVG. That is the folder you have to save the update files in. AVG won't go looking for update files anywhere else so it won't tell you it's got updates available if it can't find the files. Try it. It has worked for for from AVG 6 to 7. Hope that helps this time :^) Tonia ----- Original Message ----- From: "Inge" <inge@xxxxxxxxx> To: <pchelpers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 30, 2005 10:41 PM Subject: [pchelpers] Re: Free Antivirus -- updates Tonia, It does not give me the option to update from the folder. It does not say "updates are available." It only tells me that there is no internet connection. I have cable and am connected all the time.
