You can manually download the updates from Grisoft website. Look for "AVG
7.0 -  Priority Update". Download the update file and save it in your
Grisoft folder (Mine is at C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free. Next you start
the AVG control panel, click on "Check for Updates" and instead of going
into the Internet, click on From Folder. Navigate to the folder where you
have saved the file and AVG will tell you "updates are available" or
something to that effect. Just click on update and AVG will do the rest.

I could not find a way to manually update the virus definition at AVG
either.

My Firewall is not blocking AVG, George.
