You only need IE for updating Windows and Office or running most online 
virus etc. scanners, i.e. the only sites that shouldn't work in Firefox 
are ActiveX sites. It seems that some online scanners are adopting 
alternative techniques like making users first download a small 
executive file that mimics(?) or does the same as (?) ActiveX in 
(outside) of Firefox even though FF is used to download the file.
