Uninstalling Firefox of course leaves your so-called profile folder 
intact! (where all your settings and personal stuff like bookmarks are 
stored) Otherwise, we'd all have warned you to first make a backup of 
your profile.

Just to give Murphy a bad day, you might as well backup your profile 
first anyhow (you never know with computers!).

But if all you want to make a copy of is your bookmarks, all you have to 
do is enter bookmarks.html in Start/Search and copy it from there to 
your backup folder or CD.
