Great. That's what i was going to suggest next. It seems that the 
service pack update messed up your network settings.

I would still try to figure out the other problems you're having because 
they indicate major problems in your operating system. They may simply 
be glitches in the service pack, so the solution may be to uninstall it 
and wait until MS fixes the glitches.

It's never a good idea to install a major Microsoft update until waiting 
long enough to hear that the usual MS sloppiness has been fixed enough 
to prevent major problems. As you know, MS uses its customers as unpaid 
testers, so i wait at least a week before installing normal important 
updates and at least 2 months before installing a service pack. I 
haven't even been notified of Service Pack 2 yet, so MS has apparently 
just started sending it out.
