[pchelpers] Re: FireFox

I'm curious about this new "vista"; is it for 2000 and not winME, and it
probably uses a lot of space. I have firefox and had a problem with one of
the
extensions and I think deleted it. I think there is also spyware in the
toolbar there, or saw some reference to it. Thanks for the tips below. Do
not
know if they already cover anything that I mentioned above.

Thanks.

Hi ,

I'm now running Windows Vista full-time.

If you do not have IE 7 beta installed (even if you don't use IE),
then you should. It can be uninstalled, and the development team is
providing full support for it. You should use/install it because
they've beefed up the security a lot, although not as much as in IE
7+, which is what comes with Vista.

I installed Firefox, and started looking for add-ons, and there's a
LOT more now than there used to be. Here are some which may be of
interest:

Saves your session exactly as it was.

SessionManager https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2324/
Saves and restores windows, including after crashes.
Replaces SessionSaver and Tab Mix Plus' session manager

CrashRecovery https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1955/
Automatically restores pages after a crash
Dontt use with Session Manager, SessionSaver or Tab Mix Plus.

PDF download https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/636/
Choose whether to view a PDF in an FF tab, in Adobe, or just
download it.

FireFTP https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/684/
FTP client within FF.

Colorful Tabs https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1368/
Gives the tabs nice pastel colors.

IE View https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/35/
Provides an option to open a page in IE; can set specific pages to
always open in IE.

Wondering where the website is hosted? Shazou can show you a map
with the area marked.

Greasemonkey https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/748/
You've probably heard of  this; it lets you dynamically alter pages;
many scripts are available.

CustomizeGoogle https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/743/
Dynamically alter Google search pages.

DownloadHelper https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3006/
For downloading and saving that media instead of just watching it play.

automatically fetch a cached copy of the page from one of 5 caches.

Linkification https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/190/
Sometimes, you'll see URLs on pages which are not clickable; this
makes them clickable.

Bookmark Duplicate Detector https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1553/
