Well, I no longer have regular telephone hookup so any device that
uses the traditional landline no longer works (I switched to Vonage,
an Internet phone company, several weeks ago). So my current fax modem
is virtually useless. I looked into eFax but I was disappointed with
the limitations. I'm only interested in sending faxes and you have to
pay to send with them, and since I only send about 2 faxes per year,
it's not worth me paying monthly fees. Another website offers free fax
sending, but I can't send any attachments, such as my personal
documents. They only have a text editor to fill in your message and
that's all.
I suppose I'll just have to go down to the local fax centre and send
from there, which is not a big problem.

Susan You probably already have a Cable or DSL modem using your
ethernet card now. Never heard of running another modem through
ththose modems nor thorugh an Ethernet card. . A simple solution might
be just to go with EFax. I use EFax for FREE personal receive and
Windos XP FAX driver for sending faxes via a FAX modem even though I
have a Cable Modem for the Internet.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
