There are at least two types of false mail list subscriptions:
1st the prankster subscribes one person to many, many lists and floods the
subscriber with legitimate spam. I had that with Netcom and it was one of the
reasons I terminated them since they were of no help.
2nd the prankster subscribes many people to one list. Then the list is
flooded with complaints that cannot be resolved. I had that with a list that
was in formulation. The moderator was an administrator with the University of
California. I complained directly to her. She was so taken aback of getting
private email that she had the administrator give me instructions on how to
unsubscribe from the list.
Daintyroll may be such a victim. And the results of the abrasive note may be
just what (s)he wanted. I do not think (s)he will apply for admission to
PcHelpers again. - Gerald

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
