If you have XP Home, then you have Simple File Sharing, and they can
see your shared files. The password just keeps them out of non-shared
files. Basically, that's one level of protection that you don't have.

On the network adaptor for the wireless, remove the protocol for file
and printer sharing; you only need (want) it on the adapter that you
use to share the connection with the other computer. This will keep
you from seeing your neighbors and keep them from seeing you, yet
should still enable the wireless internet to work.
