[pchelpers] Re: DVD problem

Louis, I can appreciate the hassle you are going through. I down loaded the
free Windows Media Creator. The Camcorder that I was using had a program driver
with it and a program that allowed the Camcorder to be connected to a USB port
and build a .WMV file on the Windows Media Player.
The problem of converting the WMV file to burn it to DVD was fixed with the
following program sdvcdcFullver8.exe http://www.tucows.com/preview/314571.html
The connercial version for 29.90 has just been released http://www.alldj.com/
... It was a slick program and handled the whole job from WMV to build the ISO
file. Double clicking on the ISO file then brought up ROXIO to burn it to DVD
which of course worked well in my cheap DVD player as well as on the PC.
In your last message as Scott mentioned you continually mention CD. The
discs for CDR and DVD+R/DVD-R do not appear to be the same thing. I have
burned both but have not tried to intermix them.

cyrilh,

I posted an answer to the question you asked . . . .probably moments after
you posted. My biggest problem is that I am not standing back and studying
the a., b., cs of DVD burning. Now, as to the settings on my DVD player,
it is a very basic, relatively [two years] new, DVD player [Toshiba
SD-K620KU] that I
purchased at Sam's for about sixty dollars. I sense that a number of people
these days have a low side DVD player, but they are able to play DVD's made
on
a PC. About all I see regarding settings is, open/close skip, pause, stop
and play.
In the back I see the connections, VIDEO OUT jack, VIDEO OUT (Y/Pa/Pr)
jacks, ANALOG OUT (L/R) and S VIDEO OUT jack, which I will look into
tomorrow.
As I said though, I am looking for the "how to" to burn a DVD that someone
can play
on a simple DVD player with a simple connection.

I believe my problem may lie in that I am not capturing the video and audio
in the
correct format. I maybe should not be going through by TV card, or maybe the
audio should be going to my sound card, or maybe it goes back to the
non-digital
video and audio that I am getting from a non stereo five year old
inexpensive
Sony camcorder.

I am now forgetting if I have tested some CDs that I have burned on my PC,
that
play on a simple bedside CD player and some DVD's of home movies that the
audio and video play back on my PC, but I may not have tested them on the
DVD
player I am referring to in these posts. If I find they play, then I have
forgotten how
I went about burning them.
