  John,

Verizon sent me a new Ethernet cable which is identical to the old one. One
of the problems is the error message "Network connection unplugged." So I wrap
the Ethernet cable around the modem to keep it in place. The problem seems to
be a loose modem Ethernet port. It will cost me for the modem and a day lost
at work. Switching modular plugs to internal, connecting, disconnect, and
connect again to DSL seems to work. It is a cumbersome setup but it seems to
work.

I am not sure of the definiton of "splitter." All I am using is a jack
extension, that is, from one jack the modular plug in the wall attaches to a
wire with two jacks on the other end. I only use one jack at a time.

My employer insists on no personal deliveries to the office. So most stuff I
buy in a store - cash and carry. For somethings I have to use overnight. And
that is where the nusiance comes in.

They system is not perfect but it works. - Gerald

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
