That would depend on the devices themselves. An optical mouse may be
called that because is follows a printed pattern on the mouse mat (no
ball) or because it communicates with the PC by infrared or both. The
cordless keyboard may be one that uses infrared or radio frequencies to
link to the PC. The possible problems might occur if:
1) Infrared didn't reach the right sensor or
2) Radio frequencies were similar to those radiated by the PC or
3) The mouse and the keyboard by coincidence used the same infrared
wavelength or
4) Their batteries ran down.
Given all that, can you determine what the situation is from the specs
on their respective packets?
