Susan,
You can do a search using the "Find Files and Folders" utility on your
"Start" menu to find all the control panel icons by typing in *.cpl. Don't
delete anything that you can't figure out by the name of the file what
it is
for. I am not able to tell you whether the programs will work with out the
control panel applets being there but the worst that could  happen  is
you'd
have to re-install something. But, tell me, why would you not want the
added
functionality control panel access gives you? Nevermind. :)
