F8 is usually used in windows systems to bring up the windows boot menu.
That is the one with choices between normal, safe mode, command prompt etc.
It comes after the BIOS entry opportunity, which is as soon as you see a
message saying Press DEL (or something like that) to enter BIOS or
settings or similar.
