Hi All
My computer switches off occasionally and then tries to
reboot, continually cycling. It gets to the bios loading &
then repeats again & again.
This doesn't happen spontaneously, ONLY happens when
I either touch my radio mouse or sometimes by moving
my keyboard sliding tray.
I can only get it to boot properly again by using the reset button
or by switching off and on again.
Had a similar problem with a machine at work some time
back. & the techies changed the power supply which cured
the problem.
My question with respect to my home machine is - could the
problem be that the present power supply is too small output-wise
to handle my two HDDs and an extra cooling fan extracting air
from the case? The P/Supply fan is running very sweetly and I carefully
removed the little dust I could see with a LOW pressure air stream.
(I know that static can build up with a rapidly moving air stream!)
I've also been thinking that interference could be the problem & I've
contemplated placing a square of bird wire under my monitor to act
as a partial Faraday cage.
Your opinions please.
Thanks
Eric

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
