[pchelpers] Re: Computer dose not turn on

Hi you all,
a friend called me this morning and said his computer is not turning on when he
pressed the power button. However, he said there is something working, because
something is shining through in the back, it looks like a yellow light of some
kind is on. Does anybody know what the source of that light is? Does that
mean his powersupply is working?
He also said he has problems with spyware lately, and he was wondering if a
hacker could have something to do with that problem.
His other computer is stuck in a loop to the Windows screen, and than it
reboots again. He said this one is not able to go in to safe mode or in to the
setup (guess he tried to boot up from a CD).
I don't know enough on both computers to help him. I checked online and a few
people have said the power supply may be bad. But would that not mean NOTHING
would come on, not even that yellow light in the back of the computer?
This issue is far over my head, and I hope that someone can help.
Trudy
