[pchelpers] Re: Cant send mail in Thunderbird

Hi Pen and Linz

The only simple solutions may unfortunately be to switch to a
different antivirus program or to pay for AVG to get support. The
problem is AVG, not Thunderbird. Have you tried reimporting OE's
settings into Thunderbird, Linz?

Apparently AVG sometimes sets itself up automatically correctly
in only the two or three most-used email programs, and although
Thunderbird's popularity is growing almost as fast as Firefox's,
it is not yet a major player.

AVG seems to have set itself up correctly on my XP, so it may be
that reinstalling AVG with the default settings will do the
trick. I don't think i did anything except accept the default
settings.

There is a manual installation guide (that will probably work
better than the automatic one) and that seems to involve many
steps, but perhaps you will find it simple enough despite being
tedious:

I will take a look at the AVG forums to see if there is an easier
solution.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
