System Windows XP SP2
Monitor CTX LCD monitor
Screen Saver set to Blank or to None
When the system is idle for some time the screen starts to break up with
vertical black and white bands of various widths flashing across the
screen. However if I have a word processor up or practically any other
program the breaking up stops. I do not have another monitor available
to swap this one out to determine if it is the video card or the monitor.
Has anyone seen a problem like this or have any ideas about what
might be causing it. When it starts to break up, moving the mouse does
not have any effect. However if I open a word processor or browser it
will stop.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
