Interesting and obvious. As a matter of fact I did change from a "wired"
mouse to a Microsoft Optical Wireless model.

Same thing happened before the change.

Perhaps I should try changing the keyboard now!

Another thing I did was change the power supply to a higher output
value, as a similar problem occurred with a machine at my workplace.
Changing the PS did the trick (at work i.e)
