[pchelpers] Re: CPU

Your problem sounds exactly why I keep a cd of Norton System works. I
use one
component, Norton Win Doctor in the utilities section. I have found
this utility will
find and delete many things the Microsoft clean program misses. Maybe
there is a
better utility to clean out junk. If so, please someone, tell me.

Subject: [pchelpers] CPU

| I'm having a difficulty right now and before I partition and
format
| and start over, I'll pose the question to the experts. My CPU is
pegged
| at 100% most of the time now, it didn't seem to be like this before.
| Everything move at a snails pace now and it really slows down the
things
| that I try to do on the computer. I have 256mb of RAM, plenty of room
on
| my HD, it is a 300MHz computer. I heard it said that 300 MHz is too
slow
| for XP, is it possible that is the problem? Although, until recently,
I
| have not had this going on.
| My scanner recently died, and before I performed a proper burial,
I
| tried to uninstall and reinstall the software for it. I've also
| installed the XP SP2. Right now it is registering at 88% sometimes,
then
| up to 100% and I'm doing very little, only this typing.
| I have uninstalled SP2 and the scanner software and it continues.
| I"m thinking that it's something simple that I'm missing.
| Simple or complicated solutions will be gratefully accepted.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
