Copying copy-protected DVDs seems to be a fairly trivial matter, which
is why everyone is moving to DRM nowadays, which is probably
considerably more trouble than it's worth.

You might be able to protect it better by putting it online and
handing out passwords; you'd probably want to monitor the passwords
for unusual access. Of students have computers, the majority of them
will probably have internet access already. I've seen a number of
sites where it's hard or difficult to grab data in the original form.
If all else fails, you can use Citrix or Terminal Server or something
similar for students to view stuff, but that would probably require a
hardware investment. With all of these, basically, the server would
send the data across as an image, or something similar, so that the
only practical way to save the information is with screen captures.
