[pchelpers] Bad keyboard connector

I'm faced with a good motherboard where the PS2 keyboard connector has
been damaged (by an accidental pull on the cable). The board is an FIC
with AMD Athlon 700 CPU.

It looks like the connector cannot be repaired, but the rest works well.
The suggestion has been put to me that with a USB keyboard, the system
may boot up and operate in this condition.

Do you know if this is likely to work? (had always thought a
conventional keyboard would be needed at least at the start).

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
