Hi PC
Backweb is just the name of a company which provides communication software for
offline access to a company's critical information for mobile users, where
Internet or VPN access is not available.
Someone could have installed this type of software on the computer and
forgotten about it!
Is your brother-in-law using the Netscape browser? This happens with IE too. I
would get Microsoft's homepage once in a while even though I have set yahoo as
my default homepage. This happens when there's a "critical" update they want to
inform me of. There's really nothing wrong with your brother-in-law's setup.
Just my 2¢ worth..

I found it running on my brother-in-law computer.
We are having the problem of when he starts IE
it goes to the Netscape homepage. We have iwon set
as the homepage in the internet settings but he can
only get there by clicking on the home icon.
