Windy,
PC help is exactly right on. If you think of your information on your computer
(email addresses, saved web pages, etc.) in terms of their dollar value to you
and what you'd be losing if everything goes south, as has happened to me once
or twice, $50 is a pretty good price to ensure you don't lose it all.
I am not in the habit of recommending one backup system over another, but do
back up, whichever system you do decide to go with.

Go with CasperXP. It is worth the price. I have been using it for over a
year.
You can set it to clone your system drive once a day, twice a day, whatever.
I have see it clone a 120 gig drive in 25 min. Now the new version has a
great
feature. You can have a clone button on the desktop. After your first clone,
whenever you press the clone button it will only copy any changes that you
have made since the last clone, which makes for a faster clone.
The advantages of cloning your drive over just backing up data.
If your system drive should drop dead or get scrambled. All you
have to do is open the side of your case exchange the ribbon cable (if
drives are on two different cables)
or switch the jumpers ( if on the same cable and set to master and slave)
And you are back up and running from your last clone.
The one disadvantage is that you have to have two of the same size
drives, one for your system
and one to use for the clone.
