Can you find an official statement on this? Microsoft's official
position is to support the current (SP2 in this case) and previous
(SP1) service pack for their software.  I've heard people talking
about pre-SP2 no longer being supported by WindowsUpdate, but I've
never seen an official announcement to this effect, either from
Microsoft or a news source that seems fairly reputable.
