[pchelpers] Re: Adware Virtumonde

Hi George,

AVG was not on the system when I had the pest. It is installed now
so I do not think I would quite agree with your statement that it is
useless. My XP system does have AVG has always had AVG on it with no
problems. I realize of course that may not guarantee that AVG could
have handled the pest but I have a fair amount of confidence that it is
one of the better Anti Virus programs. Version 8 is the current program
and it appears to be very effective.

I had all kinds of difficulty trying to install Avira for some reason.
Don't remember the details but it required a System Restore to get rid
of it and I promptly reinstalled AVG. It was back when AVG first came
out with Version 8 and I could not find the FREE Personal Use Version.
However now both systems have version 8.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
