There's no reason to uninstall Opera. If you use Firefox to go to the 
correct installation page, it should install the plugin correctly 
regardless of whether you have other browsers or not and regardless of 
whether these also have the plugin or not.

AFAIK there is no standalone installer of the flash plugin for Firefox. 
What exactly did you install? Probably the IE plugin.

I'm not sure what you downloaded but i'm pretty sure it wasn't the Adobe 
Flash Player plugin which is AFAIK not on the Mozilla website - you have 
to go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ with Firefox.
