[pchelpers] Re: About Installing Home AVG Anti-Virus

Thanks Billlyus and Ed West,

I installed the free version of AVG on both the newer XP and older
Win95 computer without serious incident. Near the end of each installation
an error message appeared, but it didn't seem to affect anylthing
For some reason at the end of the XP install a message indicated my XP
system
has Windows 2000. It acknowledged on the Windows 95 System that
the operating system was Windows 95. A complete scan on both was similar
and uneventful, so all seems well. I don't fret over these happenings
anymore.

On the 95 install where I have two folders with the respective titles,
"My Downloads"[my creation] and "My Download Files". For some reason
the software "avg6456fu_free.exe" went to the "My Downloads"
folder. When I tried to install from that folder, a reinstallation of Matrox
Power
Desk? would take place and at its completion there was no indication of
anything
having taken place with respect to AVG. I moved the "avg8456fu_free.exe"
file to
my regular "My Download Files" and extracted from there with the result that
the
installation procedure of AVG appeared and was processed. I don't fret over
these happenings anymore.

It seems that AVG will be simple, as you told me, to use.

Lou
