Shirley, I see where you made this a post with some lines of a post I directed
to PC Cowboy, so I use this as an execuse to comment, and "comment" it is as
I am no more than an advanced novice in PC hardware/software, video capture
card with it's software and software as Paint Shop
Pro and Splash, both lesser versions of PhotoShop and Flash, then come up with
some nice home movies. Believe me, for this
advanced novice with a lot of time on his hands hasn't made to much headyway.
My computer is a year old Dell with XP, so at least we have that in common. My
thought foe you is to settle first for editing
out of your camcorder tapes any redundency, blips and blurbs, play with
accepting the files from the camcorder to the computer,
to the CD "as is" until you feel comfortable with that. Then move onto editing.
I wish I had more to offer, but I think, at
least for those in my experience catagory, what you are working with takes a
lot of patience, time and a true desire with time
to go through the techy parts.
I do wish you well, and I hope that I can try to follow your path.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
