The secretary at the school where Lee and I work has taken on a second job
in the photo lab at the local Walmart store. So the last time we were there
Lee asked her about sending in the old 8mm reels. She had to think really
hard to know what we were thinking about. Finally she said, "Oh yes, like my
GRANDPARENTS had." Oh, thanks, Julie. Well, we did become first-time
grandparents before school let out for vacation. But as she fondly
remembered the family movies, I wished it had at least been her PARENTS who
had them. We're not THAT old.
Well, evidently no one else has ever inquired through her about having
Walmart do this. She directed us to a local person who does this kind of
work.
We've been too busy for Lee to think seriously about this. I see he has his
old projector and bag of reels sitting here. Maybe Thursday when we are off
work ...
I think I will e-mail the other lady who works there who also works at the
school. I can tell her what happened and she can discreetly inquired of the
boss for us. Charlene's understanding and helpful that way.
I just thought I would let you know that we "hit a snag" in inquiring at
Walmart.
