Isn't their a program that will tell you what Bios you have and only that 
without reading all the other pages of stuff like aida32, or sandra  or Belarc 
etc...

  Depends on what BIOS your machine has Trapper.  AMI, Award and Phoenix are 
the top 3 and they should be downloaded from your motherboard manufacturer's 
website.

    Where did you find your update for the bios? Does the url list other bios's
