  I installed the bios update. It did slow down the cd boot up time, but still 
no 
  go.
  So, I noticed I had a 52x drive in an old computer that is not connected, so 
I 
  swapped drives. Now it boots just fine. Before, the cd light would just blink 
  once, now it blinks mucho and it boots the cds.
