Hi Pam, I have a sneaky way out for the 98 machine. :O) Run the network connection wizard in show all networks under start, connect to, show all networks in the xp machine. You'll find this in the left of the window. Make the diskette during the wizard session and run it in the 98 machine and see if it works. Make sure you answer all the questions right in the wizard on the xp machine. The ppp protocol is usually used to log onto the internet, so don't know if it is needed in the 98 machine to connect since it connects through the 2k machine. Apparently though, since that machine IS the gateway it | is ignoring that info. I just changed it and it didn't make any difference | in the connection to the XP box. It can still access the internet. | Yeeeehaaaaa, oops gotta learn to control myself a little better, didn't mean | to startle you across country there Bob. =) | | | I dont' even know where to begin with this next box. I've checked | everything I know to check and it's all set right as far as I can see except | 1 thing, and I don't know enough to know if it's an important or unimportant | thing. There is no PPP protocol showing on the 98 box. It was there before | but I deleted the nic and something else (forgot what it was called), and | reinstalled them and the PPP protocol didn't reinstall. And, since that box | isn't on the network getting screen shots from it isn't going to be very | easy. | | Pam | | > | > | >Hi Pam, | >I just noticed that the default gateway is 192.168.0.0. | >Isn't it supposed to be 192.168.0.1, which is your server computer? | > | >Bob Noble | > | > | >| Maybe I forgot to attach it? lol | >| | >| Here it is. | >| | >| Pam | >| Thanks for the ideas. | >| De | >| ps did not see the attachment (attached) | >| | >| | > | >To unsubscribe from this list send an email to | >pcductape-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field | >OR by logging into the Web interface. | > | | To unsubscribe from this list send an email to | pcductape-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field | OR by logging into the Web interface. | To unsubscribe from this list send an email to pcductape-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface.
