I think you are right about pdf files hiding its child files, but I wonder
if you can do an auto run on a pdf file.

Hi Pam,
Ok, I think the concept is verified. :O)

So, basically, what you have to do is put all your stuff into something else
that can be seen. This is sorta what a program does. You can see the
program to
run it, but you can't see the stuff that the program uses to run what it
shows
you, although, one can have the program access outside folders.

Gee, that statement just about says just about the same thing you said in
that
other email, about not seeing what you are seeing or something? :O)

Now a program that does this, which Trapper loves, but I hate, is Adobe's
Acrobat.

Another way to do this, might be using shopping cart type software.
The right software, may hide all the stuff you want inside of itself.

| I plan on using html to create the catalog with, the catalog thats on CD
| anyway. The other one, on paper, I haven't decided the best way to go on
it
| yet. One thing at a time I guess.
| But back to hidden folders Bob, online I believe that one cannot access
the
| directory tree of a site unless they know the path to the parent folder
that
| the entire site itself resides in. But on a CD its as easy as viewing in
| Windows Explorer, or even a browser window can show you. That's where the
| need to make the folder invisible comes in.

| Hi Pam,
| If seems to me, you should be able to hide the whole folder with your web
| page
| software, so only the web page can draw pics from it. I can't tell you
| exactly
| how to do this, but I know there is some control to what and how the
public
| can
| access things on a web.
| For FrontPage, this use to be controlled by the personal web server.

| |
| | I want to hide the main folder that the images are kept in when you
are
| | viewing the tree. I will use the images throughout the catalog pages on
| the
| | CD. If they steal one or several images that way I can't control it (I
| | haven't found a way up to this point), but I can prevent them from
taking
| | the entire collection in one fell swoop. We have already caught another
| | company stealing our images and displaying them in THEIR printed catalog
| as
| | their own. I can't make it impossible for the images to be taken but I
| | won't make it easy for them either, if I can help it. I am entertaining
| the
| | idea of presenting the entire thing via a flash presentation which will
| | discourage theft even further. The so far insurmountable problem I'm
| facing
| | with the Flash idea is size limitations on the CD. Its a big catalog.
| | Does that help it to make sense?
