Hi Martha,
Thanks,
Was trying not to add anything else to that machine until I figure out what
causing the freeze. Don't want to add to the problem. What I really wish I
could find is the function to watch the boot sequence and see what's
hanging.

Are you talking about msconfig? It is not in Windows 2000, but you can
download it here.

You will get an error message when you run it, but you can just ignore the
error.

Ahh, I should have read a little closer. This one I found, doesn't have
anything in it. I'm looking for the one where the drivers load, AV, system
tray apps, etc.

It is under Document and settings and is under two profiles, the one
you log in for and all users. Right click the start button and left click
explore. You will have to go under the programs to startup. I am shutting
down though, I have to get up early, I am presently in Burlington, VT and
travelling to Maine in the morning after I visit the terminal I set up
today.

Boy you are quick tonight. ;-)

No external drives, but a USB mouse, which works.

Where's the startup list in Win2k. Do you know? If I can't find the
boot sequence I'm looking for I could try removing stuff from the start up
to see if it is one of them.

If you have any external drives, USB or Firewire disconnect them and
try to come up in regular modem. I have found some drives are funky and will
work fine once you are in windows but will hang it up if attached when
booting.

        Hi all,
I've got a computer running Win 2kPro that will not fully boot. It
begins as it should and does not hang at the exact same place every time.
It will boot up just fine in safe mode. I know that there is an option in
Win 98 to watch the boot procedure so you can see where the problem is but I
can't find a like feature in Win 2k. Anyone know where it is or have other
suggestions?

        Pam
