A Linksys- BEFSR41 EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch  yep I found 
the manual it says that it is   NAT technology   so now I want to find out 
about that

I am also running sygate personal firewall in my computer and norton firewall 
in the other computer.

  What is the make of your router? A hardware firewall which most have is that 
ports are not open and wan is blocked, usually you can enter an IP address in 
your browser url field and enter a password that is in your manual, it is admin 
for Linksys router and you can open ports for ftp db2, http etc. if you were 
running a server and wanted to allow access to your computer. :>)
