  The way that I have set up the router is: 

  Internet to Modem to Router to Computers the firewall is in the Router 
therefor shielding both computers,  although  both computers have their own 
individual firewalls anyway for added protection.

    Don't be mislead;   that firewall is for the slaves; not the host computer.
