Not sure where you got the impression I was doing a re-install. This is all
the same situation. Read about 5 posts down from here.

  I think what you are saying is that if you re-install firefox you loose
all of your old bookmarks? or is that just because it is on a different
machine..so is this a machine issue ( os) or a foxfire issue?

      and when you go to the older machine and click on a bookmark from the
list it calls it up just fine, but you can't locate a path to it???
