Having observed comets for decades I caution everyone to be very skeptical
about appearance estimates published in almost any source. The sources that
tend to hype brightnesses are generally wrong. It would be a pleasant surprise
to have a naked eye comet or even to have Comet 45P to have a tail visible to
the naked eye.Observing a comet in binoculars or via telescope is much less
pleasing especially when you are attempting to show the general public. The
avertisements for this comet in relation to the lunar eclipse were just flat
misleading!

but here is the good news - from here on, the comet will be rising earlier,
and the moon will be rising later each night. we will probably be able to see
it next week
here is more info

http://cometchasing.skyhound.com/ ;(scroll down for finder charts and
week-by-week description of each comet. this page is updated regularly so it
is a good site to bookmark) the following one gives the exact details for the
position of all visible comets. it is another good site to bookmark.

Seen online:
"A few hours after the eclipse, Comet 45P, which has been visible after sunset
for the past two months through binoculars and telescopes, makes its closest
approach to Earth, when it will be "only" 7.4 million miles away, NASA said.
"Look to the east around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, where it will be visible in
the sky in the constellation Hercules. Binoculars or a telescope could be
helpful. Watch for a bright blue-green "head" with a tail.”
Clear skies,
