[pack163-leaders] Leader meeting notes

November 6, 2011
 In attendance:  
Misty, Rob, Jenny, Linda, Randy, Brad, Ryan, Mark, Bill 
 
Roundtable update –Journey to Excellence (replaces Quality Unit) is due by 1/4.
 
Re-charter is due 1/4.  Talk to your dens and see who will be continuing after 
January (Should be everyone!).   Rob will need to know by the December leader 
meeting.  The boys needed to sell $300 in order to cover their re-charter fees. 
 The list of who will need to pay the re-charter fees will be emailed out soon.
 
Roundtables are held at St. John Neumann church.  They are looking for food for 
the pantry drive at the roundtables.
 
Leader training needs to be done before December leader meeting as well.  
Leader position specific training can be done either on the web site or in 
person.
11/12 in person am session is 10:30-12:00, pm session is 3:00
BALOO (basic leader outdoor orientation) is being offered on 12/3, it is all 
day.  We need some other leaders trained besides Rob.  Let Rob know if you are 
interested.
 
 FOS (friends of scouting) information is filled out and ready for the Blue and 
Gold dinner.
 
Registration drive – the boys can earn a special patch for recruiting a new 
boy.  Our goal is to add 5 new boys (Now 4, because we have a new Tiger as of 
last week!).
 
Rob went over the November pack meeting (see leader meeting agenda that was 
passed out)
Misty is doing an update on popcorn and wreaths at the November meeting.
We will be doing the Bobcat Ceremony again for the boys that were not ready at 
the bonfire.
 
December pack meeting – need someone to get the whip cream and small plates (73 
pies, Aldi is best place for whip cream).  Also hand out the pine wood derby 
cars at the December meeting.
 
Activities coming up:
Holiday parade, 11/20, we will meet at 1:30 to decorate.  3:30 for everyone 
else riding on the float.
 
December Pack activity Caroling at 6:00 NOT 7:00 and it is December 16th NOT 
the 17th
Linden Grove has the Jingo game. 
 
Milwaukee Admirals game 12/9 – Mark Winters is collecting the money and 
distributing tickets before event.
Globe Trotters flyer was passed around.  Mark sent out an email about this 
event as well.
 
January’s event is the pine wood derby .
February’s event is the Winter Jamboree
 
Any other activities –Brownies are asking us to team with them for a food drive 
(they are trying to beat Waukesha West- who was won the last 2 years).  Need to 
make signs and take the food to the Salvation Army. This could be the holiday 
philanthropy project.
 
Fund raiser at Chili’s for the month of November. You need to take the flyer 
10% goes back to our pack.
 
Camping 
11/8 River Rats meeting – Rob will be attending, we will try to get our old 
weekend back, if not staying with Mother’s day weekend.
Winter cabin – Fred has the cabin reserved 2/11 weekend.  Webelos will be 
setting up Friday night.  There will be 3 outdoor and 2 indoor events. Bill is 
doing ice fishing. Troop 4 is doing Klondike sled races and another event.  We 
need to come up with 2 indoor events and someone to run them.  Volunteers?  
Misty is making chili.
 We are thinking of having the Arrow of Light ceremony and the cross-over  at 
the camp.
We will have Dan S. do his mountain man ceremony.  His cost is $100.  Rob will 
email him the date to schedule.
 
Finance and Fundraising update:
We need to get a hat for the top seller and get the den traveling trophy 
updated.   Rob, Liz and Misty to figure out the top den.
Misty announced the winners.
Total sales: $14889
Wreaths: $5349
Popcorn: $9433
 
Wreaths will be delivered to Misty’s house on Wed 11/16 (We paid $100 for 
this). She will need help sorting. Pick up will be on Thursday and Friday.
 
Misty will get gift cards from Walmart for the boys that sold wreaths using the 
same percentage used for the popcorn. ($140 total)
 
ACTION ITEMS:
Rob to follow up with Janet on the pine wood derby cars
Mark to make flyers from Chili’s for the November to pass out to make money for 
the pack (to help pay for the derby cars)
Rob will follow up the winter camp and Arrow of Light ceremony and the 
cross-over
