Spiderman vs. Firelord comes to mind. Spiderman knew he was outclassed,
and called the Avengers. He spent the day running from Firelord, trying
to keep Firelord from harming too many innocents, all the while waiting
(and hoping) that the Avengers would show.

Clutter doesn't bother me that much, as long as the PCs don't resort to
the deus ex machina. I like the idea that there are other active Supers
out there.

I just think active PCs should be limited, so that GMs can plan for
certain characters.
