OK,
So I'm on Fark.com, no big surprise, and I see a link to "The 25
Lamest Superheroes of All Time". That should be fun, but the tag is for
Maxim Online.
Now I can't stand Maxim. Ian's roommate Casey read Maxim and I
think that tells you all you need to know about Casey. I've long held that
Maxim is for guys that lack the taste to buy Playboy or the guts to buy
Penthouse. But against my better judgement I clicked the link. After all,
it's a list about lame superheroes. I'm sure to get a laugh, right?
Wrong. The writing is so bad it's only slightly above an online
chatroom. I didn't think you could have such a lack of humor without really
putting effort into it. They make Carrot Top look witty. They make George
W. Bush seem well spoken. They make Jerry Lewis look funny to
non-frenchmen.
The fact that Maxim is apparently doing so well in sales really
makes me weep.
I just had to share my pain. I'm not even posting the link. It's
not worth it.
