Hi there, Herby,
So glad you joined us. This is really a low-key, as Don puts it, group. I have
been planning on writing a note to everyone the past couple weeks and then
somehow, life gets in the way.
I appreciate someone with a sense of humor and looks like you will fit right
in.
My computer expertise is very minimal as I am just a plain old Windows user.
I have so many irons in the fire now that I won't start something new and learn
another computer. So, just to introduce myself, I am Sandy. I live with hubby
of almost 44 years, in southeast corner of Idaho. Some folks call it Little
Siberia as it is so cold in the winter. So far we have just had cold and not
much snow which suits me fine. My hobbies are quilting, genealogy and reading
and never enough time to do all of them well. I figure I have about 30+ years
left to do all that I want to do. :-) My bucket list is way longer than that
though.
Would love to see pictures of your paintings if you would care to share and
also your fireplace. Sounds intriguing.
I am sure we are always up for hearing 'old war stories'. :-) so again,
welcome.

Lisa, I have been industriously quilting the quilt you sent. We rent movies and
so that is when I do my hand quilting. I hope to have the hand quilting part
finished by end of December and then it won't take long to get the binding
(edge) on. I can't say my quilting is getting any better but it isn't getting
any worse, either. Have to admit, I just can not quilt like the good quilters
do with the thimble but I get it done. Hope your feet are improving. I know
what you re going through because as I get older, that is one of my small
pains, too. I have to admit my curiosity is up re: "a couple of the executives
seem to be playing a little fast and dirty with the rules."

Don, I sure wished I would have know you wanted old computer towers. Dang it! I
finally took my 2 previous ones to the dump last month. I would have mailed
them to you. I think I still have a CD/DVD thing my son sent me years ago to
install. Needless to say, it never got installed. Could you use it?

I have been wondering how the house building is going and ill look forward to
updated pictures. At least, it is cooler down ther now, I assume. Your
thrifty habits seem to serve you well. I also buy tea in bulk, although I get
mine from CoffeeAM.com. I think I only have to buy tea about every 3rd year,
considering that I only use one coffee scoop per pot of tea, which we also make
in our drip coffee maker. Then we run a second batch of water through for the
second pot and it is just as good. We use Earl Grey, Blackberry, Raspberry,
Orange Spice, Clove, and whatever else I think looks good. I ordered one bag of
African Red Roobios and mixed a little of it in each batch of the others. It is
supposedly good for lots of things. I sure didn't think it looked like you
were extravagant but rather really thrifty and economical. I know you are both
good cooks. I enjoyed your case of the babbles. John, in case you read this,
hi to you also. Kudos on quitting smoking. Okay..if there is anyone else that
reads this, jump in and say hi. It's been so long since anyone has written,
we've probably forgotten who everyone is. Have a good weekend, everyone. ~Sandy
