Hi David,
Yes, likely. We'll have to figure out a strategy for this though, as we'll
need to work out whether we provide automation through .Net, or whether we
use COM and the various automation features, such as IDispatch, that COM
provides.

Hi Will,
Following on from this thought, are there any plans to offer automation of
the screen reader itself? I know other screen readers provide some level
of automation interface, but it seems to have been an afterthought. It
needn't be a priority, but just wondered if there were any demand for such a
thing.
All the best,
David

Hi,
Yes, all programmers will have access to the API in Longhorn, named WinFX.
WinFX is a set of managed code libraries, meaning you'll have to use a .Net
language to access them, although some wrapper classes are being made
available for unmanaged code, which you'll likely be able to use with
unmanaged C++.
You can find out more about programming techniques under LH, and the
contents of WinFX, at: http://longhorn.msdn.microsoft.com
