That sounds like a great idea.  I did know, from talking to Mike at Freedom 
Box last year, that they were working on their USB Freedom Key, or at least 
that's what I think it was called.

I think this would solve one important issue for those in some types of 
employment or voluntary work, or just for personal use, and that's mobility. 
Gone are the days of just sitting at one deskand using the same computer. 
Whilst this is still reality for quite a few people, some offices are using 
techniques such as hot desking, and people out on the road may need to use a 
computer wherever they can find one.

If we go down the route of using .Net based languages, which seems the most 
sensible option at the moment, then the computers will need to have the .Net 
Framework installed, but this is a simple download from Windows Update.

I think this is something that should definately be seriously considered, as 
it fits in more with how people actually live.
