[ossrp-control] Re: Current Update; And, Future Specs!

Hi Tony:
To answer your first question - from: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=890830

"Microsoft has released the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool to help remove specific, prevalent malicious software from computers that are running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows 2000. The Malicious Software Removal Tool supersedes all virus-cleaner tools that were previously released by Microsoft. You can download the Malicious Software Removal Tool from the Microsoft Download Center. You can also run an online version of the tool from the Malicious Software Removal Tool Web site on Microsoft.com. To run the Malicious Software Removal Tool from either location, you must log on to the computer by using an account that is a member of the Administrators group. If you are running either Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you can also run the Malicious Software Removal Tool from the Windows Update Web site or by using Automatic Updates."

I believe an updated version is released every month, on what we call "Patch Tuesday". Once it's downloaded, it runs once and then goes away.

Subject: [ossrp-control] Current Update; And, Future Specs!

I've noticed in the current updates that Microsoft is including what is called, A MalWare Removal. There have been several of these. Any tippers as to what's going on and can this be expected on the increase of these kinds of things as we look toward the next Windows release?

Here's my second part of this post; probably, the most important, as, it's more on topic.
We've talked about the screen reader a good deal already; but, nothing has been said as to the specs of LongHorn. Will it be a huge, enormous thing? What about the system requirements for the thing? Tons of RAM? Hundreds of gig of hard drive? Well, you get the idea.
Some have already been talking about the deep and profound core of the reader, and I appreciate that, though it's way too big for this old MillHill boy. That's a boy who was raised around a cotton mill work atmosphere, for those of you who don't know the cornbread delicacies of the South U S of A. Now, let's hear some plain, basic stuff on what it's going to take to run the OS successfully; like, how grand of a machine will be needed to run it; and, what about 64 byt as opposed to 32 byt? Can we expect the same difference we had when going from 16 to 32. You remember 3.1, don't you?

I know, I'm sorry but, I saved all my questions till now.

Thanks, for hearing me out; and, by the way, have a great day!
